Body Freedom International

Voluntary Social Media Manager & Marketing Manager

This movement helps men and women who have body issues gain body freedom and confidence by using nudity as a healing tool.

Project background

The movement was completely voluntary so it was an interesting project to work on. All the people involved were around the world so when co-ordinating meetings all involved had to be flexible on times to make them work.

1. The challenge was to take over the role the person who had been managing the social media, to revitalise the look and feel of the socials, to create a new logo as part of a corporate rebranding and create a campaign for the new look "community calls", an open forum for 'warriors' to discuss current issues and points of interest.

2. Roll out the rebranding across the social media platforms including a gradual change from the muted nude tones to the fresh, more vibrant colours.

3. Building content by liaising with the CEO, psychologists, community manager, visual designer and coaches - using their input and feedback to produce plans for; social media, campaign launches and a detailed Marketing Plan.

Creative process

The challenge was to tidy up the Instagram feed whilst still creating engaging content. The previous creators had scheduled content daily, but the new continuous feed needed three posts posting at the same time to keep the feed looking smart and tidy, so I reduced the posting to 2 or 3 times a week or when we had enough content for 3 posts. These were then worked into the continuous feed design and posted to go out in the correct order.

BFI had access to the viral content marketing posts which created content like the ones you see on the right and each month a new set of posts tailored for your organisation could be produced. If they were they were the only provision for a feed I think it would be overkill but once diluted with great mix of photos, quotes and engaging stories a balanced and beautiful feed was created.

Final results

I've produced posts for this charity which were reformatted to fit each channel. I successfully rebranded the movement and have given the young CEO training on how to create the continuous feed going forwards. I had to step back from volunteering after 3 months to focus on getting a paid role but I am still in touch with the amazing team.
