I formed an ocean rowing team with my now husband in 2021 with a plan to row the Atlantic Ocean in 2025. I was originally going to row in 2020 but bereavement and losing by business stopped me rowing that year. So resilience and perseverance has been key to getting a new project off the ground and building the social media and marketing from scratch again. I manage the website, all social media channels including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, Twitter and YouTube. Instagram has been the priority growth platform
The challenge was to create beautiful Instagram worthy content from Atlantic Campaigns Smugmug content from the past 10 years of races, current training, planning, preparations, training rows, charity involvement and restoring the boat. All content had to be produced with no additional budget and no paid advertising to gain followers.
Fortunately Canva™ (the package I use predominantly) has thousands of amazing stock images and videos which I combined with our own content to create a mix of messages:

The channels are all growing, TikTok is starting to get more traction on some posts which is great. I've almost doubled the followers in the last four months from being completely static for two years by introducing regular 60s reels to the channel. LinkedIn is a new platform for us and we already have significant growth in that. I get complemented on the website and keep that up to date. Facebook is also seeing steady growth and upwards.
